I'm multifaceted and highly educated. I have a BA in History and an MA in Museum Studies. But I couldn't make a living in a museum, so my hobby--computers--became my living. I'm now a charter member Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician. I aspire to be a professional writer and/or poet. I am a Christian and have been living by His grace for the last four years or so, despite the MegaStress and now the GigaStress. He keeps me going, and displays His glory still, in my life.

A Bit Annoyed
Actually it's been kind of an annoying day all around. Why should blogging be any different?

I was finally moved to the "new" blogger which changes my login name and all that to Google. Well, okay, I guess. I like Google. And I got to look at some new templates to choose from. I liked this one call Scribe.

Then I had to go and mess with it. I clicked Customize or Edit or whatever and now it's not like the template. The About Me section is on the left instead of the top. And it's too long, so the Archive links area is short. Don't like that. So I tried to go back to the template.

So I change it again, and the elements stay in the same place, I just have a template I don't like.

So I go back to Scribe and I think I'm stuck this way.

OK. I think I finally figured some of it out. I can drag and drop! Whew. But why did just clicking Customize make those elements move? I liked the template. Well, now I've got them in the right places, but the dividers aren't in some of the places they should be, and "Recent Posts" isn't in that nice cursive font. I'm still annoyed.

Yes! I finally found out how to revert to the "classic" style and use that beautiful template. Isn't it nice? I guy named Todd Dominey designed it.

Why else was I annoyed? People at work. I work a Help Desk technician. That should be enough. But alas, it wasn't so much the users as certain other people in my department. The IT department. Where people who know how to use a computer are supposed to work. Okay, that was my gripe yesterday. Today it's the people themselves and how they manage each other mostly that annoy me. So I'll just leave it at that.

In other news: We are attempting to potty train our cats! Yep. Elora, the youngest, seems to be the furthest along. The first step is to put the trainer on the floor near the toilet. She is the only one to use it so far. That we know of. We actually saw her using it once.

We have pulled up the carpet in four rooms of our house. There are not much more than four rooms in our house. That means that the rest of our house is a mess! We still have some things to pack in those four rooms, but most of the furniture is out of them. The computers aren't. I'm waiting for the last minute for those. My web site will probably be down for a day at least the day the new carpet is installed. Which is the 24th of February.

All that work is what has kept me from writing. But actually, since Rob peters out earlier than I do (Yes, I married a morning person.) I sometimes stay up and write with a book light. So, I have been writing. Just not as much as I'd like.
