Gabrielle's Life and Writings

Gabrielle Lawson, writer of Fanfiction. I will use this space to keep a journal about my writing, the progress I'm making, stories I'm working on, writer's blocks I'm having, our adoption process and progress and just life in general.

I'm multifaceted and highly educated. I have a BA in History and an MA in Museum Studies. But I couldn't make a living in a museum, so my hobby--computers--became my living. I'm now a charter member Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician. I aspire to be a professional writer and/or poet. I am a Christian and have been living by His grace for the last four years or so, despite the MegaStress and now the GigaStress. He keeps me going, and displays His glory still, in my life.

A long time again

Gosh, haven't been here for awhile, have I? I just went and read my last update to see where I was.... Well, that snow melted and we had a rather mild winter up until last week. Then we got an ice storm. But that was a rather mild ice storm compared tot he one that hit us in 2002. The streets weren't too bad after the first day and so I was left with just how beautiful it was seeing all the trees covered in ice. Ah, but now, all the ice on the trees has melted and much of it on the ground. It's rainy today, and that may freeze they say, but not as of yet. We'll see.

I did finally get rid of that one last extra kitten. I found a group that adopts them out and they took him. I left a CD of baby pictures, and a Birth/Adoption certificate with him so that they could give them to whoever adopted him. So, I'm back to just 5 cats in the house. In fact, Elora (who was TabbyGirl) just turned 5 months old yesterday, so I've made her an appointment to get spayed. Earlier this month, I took Poodie and Rigby for their shots. I should have a break for a little while before I have to take another one to the vet.

And yes, I've been writing! Well, revising/rereading first. But I do plan to try and write The Honored. I just finished going over Chapter 1 again and I made a few improvements (I hope they're improvements). I'm going to move on to what I have of Chapter 2 and see if the juices keep flowing so I can write new stuff.

    Status of Stories
  • The Honored: reread ch. 1 with edits, moving on to ch. 2
  • Purgatory: still lost in purgatory

Is the Honoured a DS9 story?

I've finished reading all your ds9 stories, and I'm very very impressed. You write a lot better than some of the novelists (and your editing is better).

Yes, the Honored is a DS9 story. And it seems plenty content to remain on a back shelf, darn it. It was a good idea when it came to me back in 1997 and it still is. Have you any idea how many stories I've written as me or Ainaechoiriel since 1997? I haven't counted but I think at least a dozen.
